Yokan

Yokan is a bar of gelled sweet bean paste made chiefly of azuki beans, sugar, and agar-agar. It is one of the most traditional of Japanese sweets and has a long history. A drawing of yokan wrapped in a bamboo sheath is included in an illustrated encyclopedia dating back to 1712, showing it was already well-known back then. Made from carefully selected, high-quality ingredients, and cooked with great patience and skill by wagashi artisans, yokan is one of Toraya’s most popular products. Toraya’s signature yokan have a long shelf life of one year.

Toraya’s yokan are available in four sizes: petite, medium, large, and extra-large.
