Kankobai / Pink Plum Blossom in the Cold

Plum blossoms have long been known as the earliest to flower as a sign of the coming spring. This sweet depicts a single pink plum blossom braving the cold. A mixture of steamed bean paste and flour shaped into a five-petal plum blossom envelops whole white azuki bean paste. Bright yellow, crumbled, fluffed bean paste forms the center.
