FAQ

Q
Approximately how long is the shelf life of the products?
A
・The expiration dates shown on the website indicate the number of days from the date of manufacture to the actual expiry date. Consequently, given that we require a certain number of days for post-manufacture quality assurance and internal distribution/sales, the number of days remaining at the time of purchase may be shorter than the number of days indicated on the website. Please confirm the expiration dates of the individual items and consume accordingly.

・The products' expiration dates have been set, pursuant to the laws of Japan, on the basis of "bacteriological testing," "physiochemical testing" and "sensory testing." Expiration dates indicate the date by which the product's quality and taste will be sufficiently maintained, provided, however, that it has been kept in accordance with specified methods. Therefore, even if a product has gone past its expiration date, it does not automatically become unfit for consumption.
Q
Do the products indicate information on allergies?
A
Information on allergies, including information on the 7 items designated as specified raw materials requiring mandatory labeling and the 20 items designed as specified raw materials requiring recommended labeling pursuant to the Food Sanitation Act of Japan, is indicated on each product.

A
"Yoru no Ume" does not contain plums. "Yoru no Ume" is an ogura yokan which is one of Toraya's most popular products. It was named "Yoru no Ume" because the cut surface of the azuki bean in the yokan evoked the image of white plum blossoms in the dark night.
